BEREN: Susan Hutchison for King County Executive
By Steve Beren at June 15th, 2009.I’ve endorsed Susan Hutchison for King County Executive. She is running to bring a new direction to King County government – her message is one of job creation, economic growth, fiscal responsibility and government reform.
Right now, King County government has saddled the citizens with enormous problems – a massive budget shortfall, wasteful spending, and worsening transportation gridlock.
King County government needs fresh blood and creative solutions that benefit families, encourage small business, protect property owners, and relieve the burden on taxpayers.
Some people who oppose the Hutchison campaign have been throwing around labels like “progressive” and “liberal.” But given the serious problems facing the people of King County, throwing around labels just won’t cut it this time.
Dow Constantine and Larry Phillips, two candidates running against Hutchison, are current members of the King County Council. They’ve both always marched in line with the destructive agenda of Ron Sims and the special interests.
They throw around the label “progressive,” but stand against actual “progress” when it comes to economic growth, job creation, and encouraging small business.
They throw around the label “liberal,” but Constantine and Phillips (like Sims) have often disrespected the “liberty” of property owners, families, and taxpayers.
Up until now, King County has been governed irresponsibly – we need a major overhaul – not higher taxes! I strongly endorse Susan Hutchison and will work for her election, and I encourage you to join me in supporting this important campaign.
