DNC Ad Boosting “Jay Inslee for Governor”?
By Andrew at September 3rd, 2009.That’s the speculation over at Red County. Blogger Tom Forbes connects the dots on the Democratic National Committee buying up Puget Sound region ad time for Rep. Jay Inslee:
In fact, Josh Kraushaar of Politico is reporting that the Democratic National Committee is providing “political cover” for select House Dems, including Inslee, by running radio ads praising them for their support of Obama’s stimulus package.
Other members of the state’s Democratic Congressional delegation appear to be in more danger than Inslee (call your office, Mr. Baird!), and yet he is the recipient of the DNC’s scarce resources–not his endangered colleagues.
The simplest explanation is to buy the Politico story that Forbes links to; the ads are just “political cover.” But it’s been at least a decade since the 1st C.D. was a true swing district. Cover for what then?
Either the DNC has some in-house polling showing some BAD things brewing in public opinion for Inslee in the 1st C.D., or the Obama White House, through it’s campaign arm at the DNC, has anointed Inslee to move up.
Forbes also mentions State Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown as another candidate who’s interested in succeeding Gregoire, assuming she doesn’t run in 2012.
On that point: given the lesson of Greg Nickels’ facing grumpy Democratic voters in his unsuccessful attempt at a 3rd term, Gregoire may find she’s got better things to do than go through another tough re-election battle. The former State Attorney General, Gregoire was once rumored to be in the running to lead Obama’s Justice Department as A.G. That position could be open again as early as next year, or by 2011, especially given the heat Eric Holder has been taking as of late.
Back to the DNC ads: what are other potential 2012 gubernatorial hopefuls like Lisa Brown and Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon to make of this? As Forbes says, stay tuned!

Jay Inslee is a Left-wing fool and a political bully, a la Chris Matthews. He degrades the memory of the late former Washington State Democrat Members, the pre-George McGovern (my former neighbor 4 houses down in Spring Valley in DC on University Place whose minions I fought against as a “Scoop” Jackson Democrat at the Democrat caucuses in 1972) “decent Democrats” such as Sen. “Scoop” Jackson and even Warren G. Magnuson, regardless of their liberal domestic economic positions. I worked for both of them, as well as for the Democrats who were the leadership of the Washington State Senate in 1974-6, etc., in my days for 23 years as a top-level Democrat, before “the Democrats left me” as my man Reagan rightly said, and so I joined his 1980 Presidential campaign in 1979 as a “Reagan Democrat” and a National Vice-Chairman of Reagan Finance before switching parties in 1982.
Some accurate and pertinent historical facts. “Gov.” Gregoire did not win her 1st campaign for that office. She lost. She got fewer real and legal votes than Dino Rossi. I said so at that time, I notified the local and national press and media, and I asked my old UW Law School classmate and Ft. Meade buddy, Norm Maleng, to investigate and block and prosecute her and ACORN, et al. Norm did NOT do his job. He was pro-abortion and a so-called “liberal” [but a "Republican" one], JUST like Christine, who is and has been for decades actually a NON-Catholic by the automatic operation of Canon 915 of the Church, and he wanted to be liked, and to win his next election, so he gutlessly failed. So sad, my late friend. But by criminal fraud and vote theft she was sworn in anyway, by a corrupt pro-abortion and pro-Democrat judiciary. ACORN, the criminally-corrupt vote and voter registration and fraud outfit, which is morphing into the same criminal crew with different organizational names so as to steal billions more of the taxpayers’ money, MUST be stopped. They are already stealing elections, as usual, and as the now-indecent Democrats have been doing for decades. Their successes in NYC, Chicago, Maryland, Massachusetts, Kansas City, etc., etc. have now gone national, in many ways. THAT is why the corrupt pro-abortion and therfore NON-Catholic [she continually and pathologically lies and is power-mad] Pelosi tried to funnel them $50 billion in 2008-9.
PS For those who don’t know, Norm Maleng was the well-regarded King County Prosecutor for 20 years. I was also a County Prosecutor, and I was also a trial and defense and appellate counsel in 400 criminal cases, including as the US Marine Corps appellate defense counsel in a death penalty case, the 1st Viet Nam mass murder, torture and atrocity case, 9 months before My Lai, of Cpl. Denzil R. Allen, of Lebanon, IN, who killed 6 prisoners. With 2 years of hard work and despite fierce opposition, my civilian co-counsel, the late George Martz and I managed to get Denzil a reduced sentence of 2 years of time already served while awaiting his appeal, vs. his previous deal to avoid the death penalty for 20 years at the Portsmouth Naval Prison (known as “Alcatraz East”, from which NO prisoner ever escaped since 1912, and which my Dad guarded in 1947-49 as the C.O. of that Marine Barracks), made in Nam. My more recent, since 1980, friend Chuck Colson, Nixon’s WH Counsel, intervened in that case, we were told, on behalf of the corrupt Nixon White House, to which ALL the filings in this case with its international implications, by dangling the possible nomination to the US Supreme Court before the nose of a Federal Judge who had jurisdiction in Denzil’s case on our appeal to that system, so that he would rule in favor of the Feds. Corruption STILL pervades the Federal courts, as well as the White House, and of course, so sadly, the Congress. Mark Twain was exactly correct, that Congress is America’s only native criminal class.
